So it’s been a crazy October. Those project listed there... Well, that’s what I’ve been up to! Throw in a house move (who knew I had 20 boxes of stuff!) and the flu, and honestly, I don’t know how I made it. I guess that’s the reason for the rather disheveled photo! That and the fact that my Facebook fans wanted a photo sans makeup.. Guys! This one is for you!
It’s funny how when you’re tired, your eyes don’t function properly. I don’t usually need to wear my glasses, but sometimes you need things to come into focus.
Let’s get down to business.
Battle of The Reds was AMAZING! The first half of the match was a little boring. But the second half was insane! The atmosphere at Red Carpet Avenue was definitely heated. It’s a good thing it ended in a draw, else I’m pretty sure there would’ve been a huge brawl. But that’s what football is all about eh?
So after flying back the night before from KL, I then had a ridunkulously early start the following Monday as I shot my first ever TVC. This one was for Swensen’s Christmas promo. I had some fun playing a manager there and seriously, I need to go back and try the ice cream buffet there. The profiteroles looked YUM!
For the gamers reading this, you’ll be pleased to read that the Californian based game studio, Red 5, has opened their Asian HQ right here in Singapore. They’ll be localising their new game, Firefall, for the Asian market. It’s set to hit shelves in December this year - not too long to wait!! Apparently when they previewed the game in China at an expo, enthusiasts queued for 2 hours for a 20 minute run, then promptly walked to the end of the queue to go through another 2 hour wait. That’s dedication.
Back to local news (hah! I feel like a right little newscaster), HDB opened the Punggol Waterway on the 23rd of October. The beautiful “river” connects a couple of reservoirs whilst providing a beautiful park for residents to relax and bask in the beauty of their surroundings. It truly is a gorgeous layout. You can kayak, fly kites, cycle and run along the stretch. You should really check it out if you’re in the area. Punggol MRT will get you within walking distance.
We also closed Like Performing, Love Sony! We had the last roadshow at Republic Polytechnic and I must say, some of the best singers showed up there. I’ve always known that RP has musical talent aplenty because I got to know Jammerz Arena. I hosted their IGN!TE Music Festival a few years back and they were amazing. TK (aka Uncle) is an amazing vocalist, so I was a little sad that he wasn’t performing. That aside, the wealth of talent that has surfaced over the past few weeks was astonishing and I can’t wait to find out who will represent Singapore in the regional finals in December. Sony Singapore’s facebook page is where you need to head to for details and information if you’re as curious as me!
And finally! Singapore Talking Season 3 will be making a comeback on January 1st 2012. Bharati Jagdish and myself will once again, be seeking the voice of Singapore. With a slightly revised format, I’ll be in studio and on the streets hunting down what Singaporeans have to say about topics that are important to them. I’ll be posting details of where I’ll be when I’m doing vox pops, so it’d be great if some of you could come say hi...
Next post will share what’s coming up this month. November is already shaping up nicely, but I think I’ve blabbed a little too much already. Have a great week ahead, guys and check back for my next update real soon!
